FC Samartex 1996, the Ghana Premier League champions, and Nsoatreman FC, the MTN FA Cup holders, will know their opponents for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2024-25 and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024-25 in a draw slated to take place today at CAF’s Cairo headquarters.
Following their successes in the domestic competition last season, the two Ghanaian clubs will compete in the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup’s first preliminary round stage for the first time in their history.
FC Samartex will represent Ghana in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League after winning the Ghana Premier League in 2023-24, while Nsoatreman will compete in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round after winning the MTN FA Cup in 2023-24. The TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will feature 59 clubs from 47 African countries, while the CAF Confederation Cup will include 52 clubs from 41 countries.
The CAF Interclub men’s competitions remain two of the most sought-after club championships in African club football, with both competitions going from strength to strength.
