Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections, has shared his achievements and vision for the future of Ghana during a meeting with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Accra.
In his remarks, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his contributions as Vice President, particularly in the areas of digitalisation, which he noted had addressed several long-standing national challenges. These include the introduction of the GhanaCard, which provided a unique national identity for citizens, the establishment of a property address system, and the implementation of mobile money interoperability to combat financial exclusion.
He also discussed how these digital initiatives have contributed to improving the efficiency and transparency of public services, with a direct impact on the fight against corruption.
Looking ahead, Dr. Bawumia outlined his vision for a modern, transparent, and inclusive Ghana, underpinned by data and systems to drive national development.
Expressing gratitude to the CSOs for their participation, Dr. Bawumia emphasized their importance in the governance process and expressed eagerness to collaborate with them as President, should he be elected.
