Mr Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications of the NPP, has been discharged from the hospital following a period of critical care after surviving a severe road accident. In a post on X, he expressed relief and gratitude for the support he received.
“I am out of the hospital today with a few more knots to untie, but I am back on my feet again,” Ahiagbah wrote. “Thank God almighty, and thank you all for your prayers and support.”
He extended his appreciation to the medical team at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), led by Dr. Charles K. Dally, Dr. Otu Boateng, Dr. Roland Azorliade, and Professor Peter Ambe, as well as the entire nursing staff. “I say God bless you for doctoring and nursing me back onto my feet,” he added.
Ahiagbah also expressed his gratitude to KATH, led by Prof. Addai-Mensah, and pledged his support to the hospital’s mission to improve healthcare for Ghanaians.
Reflecting on his experience, Ahiagbah described it as “very frightening and painful,” and highlighted the significant shortcomings in Ghana’s healthcare system.
“Fighting to hold on to dear life at KATH has been very frightening and painful. But through it all, I have learned firsthand the extreme deficiencies and prospects of Ghana’s healthcare delivery system. From this experience, a Turning Point Foundation will arise to promote a people-centered, outcome-driven health policy regime in Ghana,” he wrote.
