The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has alleged that there is a scheme to remove the Chief Justice and replace her with a preferred choice of President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a post on X, he claimed that the plan aims to install a new Chief Justice who would facilitate the removal of Electoral Commission officials, including Chairperson Jean Mensa.
“A grand scheme is underway to remove the Chief Justice and replace her with a preferred NDC-Mahama Chief Justice, who will implement the agenda of ousting the electoral commissioners (Jean Mensah and others),” he wrote.
Describing the alleged move as a “premeditated attack” on state institutions and democracy, Ahiagbah urged citizens to speak out against what he termed the “politics of the John Mahama administration.”
There has been no official response from the NDC or the judiciary regarding the claim.
