The trial of Safina Adizatu Mohammed, the lady accused of allegedly murdering one Frank Kofi Osei, a Ghanaian residing in Canada is set to start on May 9. This follows the completion of opening addresses by both Prosecution and Defence lawyers. The Prosecution led by a Senior State Attorney, Nana Ama Adinkra, said they will call nine witnesses to testify before the court. These nine witnesses will include five police officers and one Michael Fiifi Ampofo, an alleged lover of the accused.

The Prosecution while urging the jury to return a verdict of guilty at the end of the trial explained that, the deceased was chained by the accused under the pretext of engaging in a sexual act known as Kinky. According to the prosecutor, the accused was stabbed in the process but was unable to defend himself because he was helpless. She added that, an autopsy conducted on the deceased on July 29, 2022 indicated that the deceased was stabbed.

Lawyer defending the accused, Samuel Alesu Dordzi, asked the jury to give the accused a listening ear and not dwell on the rumours that are being bandied around. He called for impartiality for all that will be said in court. Safina Mohammed, a 23 year old level one hundred student of the University of Ghana is alleged to have killed Frank Kofi Osei, a Ghanaian resident in Canada with other accomplices when he visited her at her Ashaley Botwe residence in Accra, while on vacation in Ghana. The Prosecution said the deceased was stabbed with a knife and strangled leading to his death. Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, before adjourning the case
asked the jury to uphold the principles of fairness and justice by paying attention to all the evidence that will be presented before them, adding that, they should be unbiased towards both the accused and deceased.
