The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif on Thursday unveiled the operational budget for the 13th African Games, when he appeared before Parliament.
The estimated cost for the event is a 47.7 million U.S. Dollars.
The Minister highlighted the government’s substantial investment in infrastructure, totaling 195 million Dollars, to ensure the success of the African Games hosted in Accra.
A breakdown of the expenditures reveals that 145 million US Dollars was dedicated to the construction of the Borteyman Sports Centre, 34 million Dollars went towards the renovation of the University of Ghana Stadium, and 16 million Dollars for the refurbishment of the Games Village at Legon.
