Ghanaians, football enthusiasts and concerned citizens will march tomorrow February 14, in a demonstration in solidarity with sports journalists.
The call comes after the Black Stars abysmal performance at the just-ended AFCON in la Côte d’Ivoire where they failed to progress from the group stages for two consecutive tournaments.
The primary focus of their protest is to address the alarming decline in the standards of football in Ghana and advocate for much-needed reforms.
The protest, dubbed hashtag #SaveGhanaFootball, will get underway at Obra Spot at Nkrumah circle, and end at the Independence Square.
In an interview with one of the convenors of the demonstration Nana Yaw Kesseh, he said, “There is going to be tight security hence anyone with the intention of causing mayhem at the blind side of the organisers should desist or face the wrath of the law enforcers”.
He further stated that as of the last meeting today with the other convenors, all persons to be petitioned have been duly acknowledged and that plans are far advanced for a peaceful protest.
