The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has raised concerns over the Mahama administration’s handling of corruption allegations, describing its approach as unconstitutional and damaging to Ghana’s image.
In a post on X, Ahiagbah accused the government of branding Ghana as a crime scene while using the Attorney-General’s office to conduct what he called a media trial of suspects instead of following due legal processes.
“We, the public, are not interested in evidence of alleged corruption but in convictions. Dr. Dominic Ayine should proceed to court if he has evidence against anyone instead of using media stunts to sully Ghana’s good name,” Ahiagbah stated.
He emphasized that while the fight against corruption is important, it should be pursued strictly within legal frameworks and not through political maneuvering.
Ahiagbah also called on President Mahama’s administration to respect civil and human rights in its governance.
