The Ghana Police Service has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to incite violence before, during, or after the December elections, vowing to take decisive action to maintain peace and order.

Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo-Dampare, reaffirmed the commitment of the police during an engagement with the Civic Forum Initiative at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, November 19. He emphasized that the police would not hesitate to enforce the law to protect the country’s stability.

“We will engage where we have to engage, de-escalate where necessary, but when we must be ruthless in enforcing the law within the context of the rule of law, we will stop at nothing,” Dr. Dampare stated.

He urged Ghanaians to support the police in their efforts to confront any threats to the nation’s peace, adding, “Bear with us and have our back as we deal with anyone who seeks to disrupt the peace of this country.”

Dr. Dampare also expressed optimism that the campaigning period would remain peaceful, while the police shift focus to ensuring security on election day and in the aftermath.

Chelsea and Tottenham Set for Thrilling London Derby Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns in a highly anticipated Premier League derby at Stamford Bridge today May 02,2024. Chelsea have lost just one of their last ten Premier League matches (W7, D2). Form on the road has become particularly concerning of late too, with Tottenham winning only one of their last seven away league matches (D3, L3). A trip to the Bridge comes at a terrible time, as Spurs have won just once in 33 league visits since February 1990.
