The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has selected Philip Kwabena Agyemang, popularly known as Roman Fada, as its new presidential candidate for the upcoming December elections.
This decision comes after a directive from the Electoral Commission, which gave the GFP ten days to nominate a replacement following the death of its founder and previous presidential candidate, Akua Donkor.
Roman Fada, a well-known radio and television personality with Accra-based Atinka FM, confirmed his candidacy in an interview on Monday, November 4, 2024. He stated that his selection followed extensive consultations with the party’s leadership, aimed at ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining momentum for the GFP’s campaign.
As Akua Donkor’s former running mate, Roman Fada expressed his dedication to continuing her legacy and vision, emphasizing that his previous role made him a natural choice to lead the party in the election.
