NSMQ 2024: Mfantsipim knocks out reigning champions PRESEC to reach final

Mfantsipim School overcame the reigning champions, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), to clinch their spot in the finale. The match ended in a tie, with both schools scoring 53 points. However, Mfantsipim emerged victorious after a tie-breaker, finishing with 56 points. Osei Tutu Senior High could only manage 27 points.

The atmosphere throughout the competition was electric, as each school fiercely battled for victory, showcasing remarkable speed and accuracy. The audience remained on the edge of their seats, passionately supporting their respective institutions.

Mfantsipim School took an early lead and maintained pressure on PRESEC throughout the rounds. The final stages of the contest were particularly intense, with both schools tied until Mfantsipim provided the decisive answer in the tie-breaker, securing their chance at the coveted NSMQ crown for the first time since 2014.

In another thrilling semi-final contest, St. Augustine’s College , secured their place in the grand finale alongside Mfantsipim School and Keta Senior High Technical School.

Augusco finished the contest with 52 points, narrowly defeating Ghana National College, which scored 49 points, and Wesley Girls’ High School, which ended with 37 points.

In the first semi-final, Keta Senior High Technical School advanced by defeating Koforidua SHTS and Tamale SHS. The competition was fierce, but Keta SHTS secured their place in the final with a score of 38 points, while Koforidua SHTS ended with 27 points and Tamale SHS scored 24 points.
