Breast cancer remains a significant health challenge, affecting thousands of women and their families each year. At a Breast Cancer Awareness event organized by the Valerie Mills Foundation at the Cancer Center, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, emphasized the need for early detection and the crucial support of family and friends for those battling the disease.
She highlighted the importance of empathy and the impact of community involvement in improving patient outcomes.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also discussed the NDC’s commitment to non-communicable diseases, pledging to provide free cancer screening to the public.
In a show of solidarity, the Mills children made a generous donation to support patients in need, while Prof. Opoku-Agyemang contributed additional funds to bolster this vital initiative.
