The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has condemned the assault on EIB Network’s court correspondent, Murtala Inusah, by supporters of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako at the Accra High Court.
The incident occurred on October 16, 2024, as Bishop Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, appeared in court over a fatal crash involving their son.
In a statement, the GJA described the attack as “devilish” and urged the police to arrest and prosecute the culprits. The journalist, who was covering the case, sustained injuries and lost his phone in the attack. A court officer who attempted to assist was also assaulted.
The GJA called for swift police action and stern punishment for the attackers.
