Across the country, tributes poured in, honouring the man known affectionately as “Asomdweehene”, the “Man of Peace”. His quiet demeanour, his gentle spirit, his commitment to peace and unity, were fondly recalled.

His signature phrase, “The better Ghana agenda,” echoed in the minds of those who had witnessed his unwavering commitment to building a more prosperous and equitable nation.

In an interview with some Ghanaians, they expressed their fond moments saying: “He was a man of the people, his voice filled with emotion, “He always put the needs of the nation first, striving to build a better life for all Ghanaians.”

Another also said, “He was a true statesman and understood the importance of peace and dialogue, always seeking to unite rather than divide.”

Despite the passage of time, Professor Atta Mills’s legacy remains a source of inspiration. His commitment to peace, unity, and development continues to resonate with Ghanaians, serving as a reminder of the values that should guide the nation’s journey towards a brighter future.

The 12th anniversary of his passing was a day of reflection, a day of remembrance, a day to celebrate the legacy of a man who left an indelible mark on Ghana.

Professor John Evans Atta Mills may have left the physical realm, but his spirit, his vision, and his legacy continue to inspire and guide the nation.
