World Vision Ghana (WVG) is undertaking to commit $3.5 million to address child hunger and malnutrition through its “Enough Campaign.”
It is an initiative aiming to raise awareness and understanding of these issues at all levels and promote the consumption of ethical, sustainable, and locally sourced nutritious food for children.
According to a 2019 UNICEF report, 24% of Ghanaian children aged six months to two years are at risk of malnutrition.
At a media briefing, WVG’s National Director, Laura Del Valle, highlighted the urgent need for the campaign due to rising food prices and the impact of climate change on malnutrition.
Gregory Dery, WVG’s Child Protection and Advocacy Manager, stated that the campaign would support 1.3 million children and provide curative nutrition services to 1.7 million households.
The campaign also aims to reduce food wastage and influence policies to improve food security, nutrition, and resilience for children.
