Manchester United’s hopes of securing a slot in Europe next season has come to a halt, following their 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Two sparkling efforts by Olise in the 12th and 66th minutes paved way for the Eagles as Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also registering their names on the score sheet to make it four wins in five for Palace.
However, United have won only two of their last 10 league matches and could be set for a lowest ever Premier League finish.
United had dropped to eighth after wins for Newcastle and Chelsea at the weekend, while the club’s injury list increased with Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes missing the tie.
The defeat leaves United in eighth place in the table, level on points with Chelsea but goals separating both sides.
Meanwhile United will host league leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday May 12.
