Dr. Rasheed Draman, Executive Director of the African Center for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA), has expressed concerns about the timing of Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration of four parliamentary seats vacant.
The affected MPs are Cynthia Mamle Morrison, Kwadjo Asante, Peter Kwakye-Ackah, and Andrew Amoako Asiamah. Dr. Draman emphasized the need for caution, urging that the matter be settled by the courts, especially with elections approaching.
He also discouraged any parliamentary boycotts, stressing the importance of maintaining democratic processes.
