The eagerly awaited event arranged by The New Force came to an abrupt stop, leaving attendees and spectators in suspense.
Initially planned to be held at the Black Star Square, the event was anticipated to highlight the political group’s agenda and potentially reveal noteworthy announcements.
The New Force, a politically active entity garnering attention for its outspoken stance on national issues, had built up significant anticipation for this gathering.
The atmosphere at the Black Star Square hinted a setback in what was expected to be a well-attended unveiling ceremony for the leader of the NEW FORCE MOVEMENT. From reports circulating, the organizers were compelled to cancel the event.
Uneasiness escalated at the Black Star Square, a national landmark, as passionate supporters of the New Force political group congregated, chanting and insisting on access to the venue.
However, the Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs Directorate has provided clarification on why it intervened to prevent the organizers of the pan-African event, The Convention 2024, from proceeding with the ceremony at the chosen venue.
In a statement, Dr. Nadia Adongo Fynn, the Deputy Director of the Diaspora Affairs Directorate at the Office of the President, explained that the decision was due to an “unforeseen” state event scheduled to occur at the venue.
“This decision has been necessitated by an unforeseen State Event scheduled to take place at the venue. Under the circumstances, the amount of Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHc10, 000.00) paid by your office for the use of the venue will be refunded. We regret any inconvenience this may cause,” Dr. Nadia Fynn added in the statement.
