Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is alleging that the founder of the defunct DKM is funding the campaign of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Before the 2016 election, DKM; an investment company, was said to have defrauded investors.
The then-opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) blamed John Dramani Mahama and his wife for the ordeal of Ghanaians who had invested in the company.
The agenda pushed during the period was that John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama, owned shares in the company.
But speaking to Ghanaians in Nkoranza, John Mahama indicated that Ambrose Dery has confirmed that the founder of DKM is a member of the NPP and a financier of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign.
He urged the people to question Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for their lost investments because the owner of DKM is using some of the cash to finance the New Patriotic Party’s campaign.
” In 2016, during my presidency, the NPP MPs and party leadership falsely accused my wife Lordina and me of being associated with the leader of DKM microfinance, which defrauded investors of their money.
Recently, Vice President Bawumia was seen with the same individual funding his campaign as a crony of the NPP. I urge you to remember that while lies may spread quickly, truth ultimately prevails. When Dr Bawumia visits, demand answers from him about his involvement and the fate of your investments, ” John Mahama urged.
Meanwhile, the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia campaign team has dissociated itself from the owner of the defunct DKM.
